CENTER FOR COLLABORATIVE SOLUTIONS
Founded in 1991, the Center for Collaborative Solutions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission and a passion for unleashing the power of people working together—helping others to discover innovative and effective ways to achieve shared goals. Our work is built around three complementary departments within the organization: Afterschool Solutions, Health Care Solutions, and Labor Management Solutions.
Focusing on SOLUTIONS in both departments, the majority of our work is grant-funded and project-based. For example: In our Labor Management Solutions Department, we serve as the neutral convener of the California Education Coalition for Health Care Reform (CECHCR), a labor-management collaborative effort to address health care cost and quality issues in the public education arena. We also convene an annual conference that offers education, skill-building and opportunities for dialogue in effective labor-management relations.
In our Afterschool Solutions Department, we have designed and implemented a Healthy Behaviors Initiative that builds exemplary afterschool practices in nutrition, physical activity and food security. We also developed an afterschool leadership initiative, where phase 1 has culminated in the publishing of a book: Lessons in Leadership—Words of wisdom from pioneer directors who developed exemplary afterschool programs.
We are pleased to announce the Advisory Board members for the Healthy Behaviors Conference. The Advisory Board members share a passion and commitment to meet the needs of the constituencies we serve. The goal for this meaningful and all-inclusive conference is to bring together key stakeholders in the field to share promising practices for the encouragement and development of quality programs and to create change in the communities we serve. While our Board guides the strategic planning process, they bring their own particular skill set and expertise to provide leadership to the overall event.
